PROBLEM STATEMENT:
Priority requirement for high resolution ortho-rectified maps over 5,400 km of widely dispersed rail assets throughout Western Australia

SOLUTION:
Outline is a member of the Landgate Aerial Imagery Supplier Panel received a priority request to assist in capturing 5,400km of railways infrastructure. A perfect fit for Outline’s GTech™ camera technology and photogrammetry team!
Outline’s Australian innovation, the GTech™ camera system, is portable and can be transported interstate and retrofitted to light aircraft. This meant that Outline could deploy two GTech™ camera systems to simultaneously capture a swath of data along railway corridors spread across WA from Geraldton to Esperance and everywhere in between. All this was done while maintaining service to scheduled customer projects. Cloud free imagery captured at resolution of 7cm GSD, with sun angles greater than 30 degrees, took over 130 survey hours and 1852 person hours – all done in 5 months. All imagery was processed to orthophotos, mosaiced and cataloged, ready for use in GIS and asset management systems.
DURATION:
April 2017 to July 2017
HSEQ STATS:
130 Aerial survey hours; 1,200 person hours worked
PROJECT STAFF:
4 pilots,
3 photogrammetrists
2 GIS operators
