High resolution imagery – Our world in detail – October 2012

Outline now delivers orthorectified high resolution imagery at incredible resolutions (up to 5cm pixel sizes, technically referred to as Ground Sample Distance or GSD).

The use of this technology is helping customers realise new opportunities in detecting, mapping and analysing data at a level of detail previously not practical or indeed affordable. Outline’s deployment of these state-of-the-art sensors off the brand new Australian engineered and manufactured, low cost, portable aerial platform is not only delivering quality high resolution imagery, but is doing so at a good price while retaining flexibility to mobilise anywhere in the country at short notice. The following illustration shows the difference between images presented at 30cm, 15cm and 5cm pixel resolution (GSD). Of course, there are limitations in using this type of data, that’s what Outline is here for.
