Harbour Dredging imagery awarded to Outline : Victoria, Australia

The development of the oil and gas resources in the Kipper, Tuna and Turrum fields in the Bass Strait off the coast of Victoria in Australia represents a multi-billion dollar investment in Australia’s energy future. Providing suitable facilities at the Barry Beach Marine Terminal (an Esso-operated facility located near Welshpool in eastern Victoria) is part of that investment and includes dredging accumulated sediment to allow access by several vessels to the facility. With environmental considerations being a key factor, Outline has been appointed to undertake several pre- and post- dredging image acquisitions to map the extent and behaviour of the sediment plume resulting from the dredging operations. Outline’s experience with this type of ‘time sensitive’ oceanographic work and quick delivery of ortho-rectified imagery made them the ideal choice for this project.
