Traditional aerial survey has been widely used for exploration and general mine site planning for some time now. Over the past few years, the technology has come on in leaps and bounds and the range of products vastly extended. The problem with this technology has been the traditionally high cost and slow responses for product delivery using large systems mounted in fixed wing aircraft. These challenges are increasingly being addressed, to some extent anyway, by the use of drones as a capture platform. However, this too comes with a myriad of challenges around size of area, flight time, mobilisation to remote sites, quality of products etc. Outline is and Australian innovation company that has developed and commercialised a hybrid technology to bring together the best of both worlds able to deliver outstanding quality products at more affordable prices. These are samples of high resolution ‘survey grade’ elevation models derived using photogrammetric techniques.
